Blue Violet have dropped a huge new single inspired by ocean conservation. ‘White Beaches’ took particular influence from the actions of Greta Thunberg, with the Anglo-Scottish duo explaining: “The younger generation want stronger leadership and better examples set by their politicians, and Greta has captured not only the imagination of her peers but the attention of the world’s leaders.” Musically, the single takes us from slightly distorted indie guitar work, through delicately melodic lead vocals and an ethereal chorus supported by distant backing vocals. The video that comes with the track is simple but effective, interspersing black and white footage of the band wandering beaches, with information on climate change.
